Our Mission
Rock Island Presbyterian Church exists to worship God faithfully, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to serve our community with humility, perseverance, and hope.
Founded in a spirit of sacrifice during times of hardship, our church stands as a testament to the truth that with God all things are possible.
Guided by Scripture, sustained through prayer, and strengthened by generations of faithful believers, we are committed to nurturing spiritual growth, teaching the Word, supporting missions at home and abroad, and extending Christ’s love through service, fellowship, and compassion.
As those who came before us built with generosity, resilience, and trust in God’s provision, we continue that legacy today by welcoming all, fostering deep faith, and walking together in obedience and love, for the glory of God and the good of His people.
Our Church Life
We are a small, close-knit congregation where relationships matter and people are known by name. Life together at Rock Island is shaped by shared prayer, conversation, and time spent together as a church family.
Every second weekend of the month, following worship, we gather for a fellowship lunch or brunch. Members and visitors bring homemade food, we bless the meal together, and enjoy time visiting and getting to know one another in our church kitchen.
Worship
At Rock Island Presbyterian Church, we gather for reverent, Christ-centered worship rooted in Scripture and Christian tradition. Our services include the singing of hymns accompanied by piano, along with prayer, the reading of Scripture, and thoughtful preaching.
Worship at Rock Island is simple and meaningful, centered on honoring God while nurturing faith, fellowship, and spiritual growth within the congregation. All are welcome to join us as we come together in worship.

Education
We are committed to growing in faith and understanding through Scripture-based learning. Through Bible study and shared reflection, we seek to deepen spiritual understanding and apply God’s Word to daily life.
Learning within the church is an ongoing, communal practice that supports spiritual growth, encourages thoughtful conversation, and strengthens our walk of faith together. All who wish to learn and grow are welcome to participate.

Community
Rock Island Presbyterian Church has long been woven into the life of our small and beautiful Tennessee community. Nestled near Rock Island State Park and Twin Falls, we welcome not only our neighbors but also the many travelers who pass through this special place. Visitors are met with open doors and a spirit of genuine hospitality.
For more than twenty years, our congregation has come together each Christmas to support the Shoebox Gift ministry, preparing gifts that are sent to children around the world as a simple act of love and generosity. This same spirit carries through the rest of the year as our church opens its doors for book reviews, community meetings, weddings, baptisms, and celebrations of life. Whether in times of joy, reflection, or loss, we seek to show up for one another and for our community with care, presence, and grace.
